Due Date Confusion-pg120163669867

baby #3 - January 29

I went to my first checkup and was told I was 8 1/2 weeks based on my last period and a physical exam. A week later I went for an ultra sound and found that I was 6 weeks when I should have been 9 1/2 by that point. I took a home pregnancy test 4 weeks before the ultra sound and it came out a very faint positive. The Dr. says not to worry we just change the due date and that is why we do the ultra sound in the first place but I am very worried there could be something wrong. Could this be accurate?

No the first ultrasound is the most acurate. In the first 12 weeks all babies grow at the same speed. The can give you almost an exact due date from that first ultrasound. When I first went before I have my first ultrasound they thought I was 8 weeks but at the ultrasound they said I was 6 weeks. So dont worry :-)

Also the further along you are and you have a first ultrasound they could be off by 2-4 weeks depending on when the baby has growth spurts
