ther are other ways to tell (sono) but no the period thing is not always accurate. if your periods are irregular then I think the best bet would be for the babys measurements to ba taken during the sonogram.. they can also see how much your baby has developed which will give you a rough estimate

I'm about 4 weeks along. My doctor says that you can roughly judge how far along you are by knowing the first day of your last period, figuring out how long its been, and then subtracting one week from it.

No i personally don't think so becasue it is very common to have your period throughout your pregnancy there are many cases, and very very common to have it your first or second month of pregnacy; sometimes it may be irragular
