This was my first pregnancy. I don't smoke, I rarely drink, i'd consider myself relatively healthy...actually, no, I'd say I am healthier than any of my friends when they fell pregnant, and yet at about 6-7 weeks it turns out I suffered a blighted ovum.
As common as miscarriages are, why is it that women who party/drink/smoke (and continue to party/drink/smoke) through their pregnancy seem to be able to carry full term with no issues! Or women who are so careful about contraception, who don't want kids as yet, are still fling pregnant?! And then people like me, doing all the right things, appear to have a good pregnancy to begin with (I found out I was pregnant at 5 weeks) only to be told at 8 weeks that "sorry love, despite a growing sac, there's no fetal pole.
I had the choice of either waiting for the miscarriage to happen naturally or have a d&c....despite cringing at the thought of a d&c, it seemed the more logical option. The surgery took place on 22nd Dec, nearly 2 weeks later and I'm still annoyed, upset, feel like a failure, frustrated that I was the one to miscarry - not that I would wish it on anyone else!!!!
I feel impatient to wait to be "healed" before trying again. My doctors have all said to ignore the old wives stories and to try when we feel ready to try (albeit waiting at least a week to have s_x to avoid any possible infection).
I have no question really, not looking for sympathy either as I appreciate this is a common feeling amongst women who feel cheated by something that is equally as common!
Just struggled sleeping tonight and needed to put this out there...

Hi...so sorry for your loss. I miscarried in Oct...currently am trying again to conceive. Who knows why these things happen...its a devastating thing to go through and really is unexplainable to be people if its never happened to them...my advice...keep trying to conceive....if anything, it definately confirms that nothing is guaranteed or set it stone....when i concieve, I hope and pray I carry it to term...thats all I can do. I wish you all the luck!
