On Nov. 17th I had to have a D&E unfortunalty. The doctor had said that everything went well and the only thing that could have happened was a bit of placenta could have been left inside. I started taking birth control pills and am now having my first period since the whole ordeal, but I am concerned because I am passing what seems to be blood clots or tissue of some sort. The pieces are not that pig they are different colors in it dark redish black, bright red, and sort of light pinkish white, it seems sort of rubbery. I'm experiencing really bad cramping. I just wanted to know if this might be a normal occurence or if I should be concerned and go to the doctors. Thank you

I would go to the doctor to be safe. If they didn't get everything and something is stuck you could get a terrible infection.

Hi Amber. My first period after the D&C I had last year was like having a miscarriage. It was unbelievably heavy with huge rubbery clots. I thought I was hemorrhaging. I was in Sweden on business and had to call an ambulance. Thankfully the Swedish health care service is amazing and i was given blood and urine tests an internal scan by a lovely female doctor who rea__sured me that it is normal to pa__s huge clots after a D&C.
When I had my 2nd mis, it was like this all over again, so I was not afraid. I just rode it out at home. I did go in to hospital to be scanned to make sure everything had pa__sed out.
It's worth seeking med advice as they said i should contact if I pa__sed any clots larger than a 50p (English money).
Hope you are ok.
