Christi--I read your post and wanted to let you know how sorry I am to hear your news. I had a mc back in Nov and have been reading the posts which have really helped me through it. I like to follow up and see how everyone is doing. My prayers and thoughts are with you.

Hello, I'm a newbie here... I had a m/c in early Dec @ 10 wks and opted for the D&C to try to get back on track quickly. I have a daughter who is 16 mo. and we want one more before I'm 40 (I turned 38 in Nov.) I have no fertility problems, just my age working against me. I was at the doctor last week for my annual exam - still no period, so they gave me a ept and it was neg. Today is day 45. I had some discharge so I took an ovu. test and discovered I was ovulating. I have mixed emotions about trying now, but we're doing it anyway! Seems like a LONG time post m/c to be ovulating. I know it can be 6-8 wks before a period, but wow. Anyway, my cycles are usually 28 days exactly, except they have not gotten back to normal 100% since the birth of my daughter 9/04. Could it be possible that I actually ovulated twice with no period? That would be perfect timing, since it's been almost exactly 6 weeks since the m/c. I'm anxious to get pregnant as that clock of mine is ticking away. Any thoughts or advice is appreciated. **TARA** My sister-in-law experienced the EXACT same thing as you with your most recent pregnancy - Fetal hydrops and Turners, 100% mortality, etc. She was induced at 20 wks. My thoughts are with you.

Liz H_ I can help answer this one.... Ok.. first, do you know your HCG the day of your D&C? You don't ovulate again until your HCG gets all the way back down. I had a D&C at 12 weeks in July and my HCG the day of the surgery was about 10,000. That took exactly 35 days (5 weeks) to get all the way down and I ovulated and conceived then. So, you ovulate ONCE your HCG gets down. If your HCG was higher or took longer to get down, then yes... it is possible to take that long. We only had s_x that one day, so I know for a fact that I ovulated once it was down.. plus, my ovulation scope went crazy the 2 days before we had s_x and I had my blood taken a few days before that and my HCG was down to 5. IF I didn't conceive then, I would have had my first period exactly 49 days (7 weeks) after the D&C. Hope that helps!! Oh by the way.. I am now 25 weeks pregnant with a healthy boy. So, its OK to TTC right away. If your body is ready it will happen. Good luck!

**Daniella** I'm so clueless! I can barely keep up with all the abbreviations here! I had to look up HCG to see what it was... so, I think I understand. And no, I don't know what my levels were & I don't know if I was tested the day of the D&C. My regular OB did not do my D&C due to an insurance screw up on my part, so it was all kind of weird since it was not my regular doc. Everything else you said makes sense. So, if I don't get pregnant this time, I can expect my period in approx. 14 days? That would be 59 days post m/c. Or could it be longer? My reg OB said to call if I don't get it by mid-Feb and they will give me a pill to get things going. So, you got pregnant after your m/c before having ANY periods? :) CONGRATS on your boy! Any older sibs?

Ladies it's me, Sharon from October of last year. Just wanted everyone to know that I gave up this month ttc because it was too stressful for me and i was worried about eating this and not eating enough of that. Excerising too much to this and not enough of that. I was charting my temp, checking my cervix and cervical mucus. You name it and I was doing it so I decided that if I wasn't going to have a baby i was going to get a puppy so this past Friday I picked up my new Goldendoodle and then of course old habits die hard so I took a pregnancy test since in a couple of days I was due for my period and I came up pregnant! Isn't that crazy!! Of course I have no symptoms and was not exspecting it to be positive. I'm already over a___lyzing everything like my temperature has dropped and i've been having night sweats the past 5 nights and i'm back to freaking out. I called the doc and they ordered me prenatal vitamins and i go in for my first visit on Feb 15 for an ultrasound which will make me almost 8 weeks. If all turns out ok then a week later i have an appt for an internal or my actual first prenatal visit. Just wanted ya'll to know that hope and faith still lives on.

Hello Ladies. When I MC back in May of 2005 I found this sight, and made a great friend at the same time. Yes my Hubby and I started TTC right away after the MC of tripplets, to our happyness we became pregant even before 1st af. The Friend I also made on this web-sight, Amy, had also become pregant, and we were due on the same day!!! We still e mail. Well I again lost my pregancie (this time of twins) one was a molar pregancy, and the pregancy had to be terminited right away. I was lost!!! My family have decide to adopt. We are getting a beautiful angel from China next month!!! She is 2 years old, I will not get to experience the "Baby" part of her life, but I already have Three beautiful children, and after three, I will gladly take a child ready to potty train!!! But she, who we are naming Lindsey, is older then my youngest so I will have a 5 year old daughter, a 3 year old son, a 2 year old daughter, and a 22 month old daughter. I can't wait. Well I guess I decided to come bace to the sight and let every one know that even if you strive to become pregant, there is always a miracle, called adoption, to make you a mommy. and Believe me you love them the same. Lindsey was abonded when she was 6 months old at a construction sight on a Friday, and was not found untill the Following monday. She was born with a Cleft Lip and Pallet. The government of china fixed her lip, but said the wouldnt fix her pallet. So that will be done when she arrives. We cant wait, to ge ther, I leave for China in 3 weeks, and I have to stay there for 2 weeks. Well I wish you all luck i your quest for a baby, wether she comes to you from your womb, or half way around the world!!!

Liz- yes, I got pregnant my first ovulation... so, never got a period after my D&C. Everyone gets their period different times after a m/c. It all depends on how high your hormones were the day you had the miscarriage (m/c). You can call your dr. and ask what your HCG was the last time they took it. Yours may have been slightly higher than mine, so when I ovulated on day 35.. you may ovulated a week later or earlier... meaning about now if its a week later. You said you tracked ovuation... how so? by the LH test strips? I would highly recommend the ovulation scope. It worked great for me. Yea, if you don't get your AF (period) in a couple weeks you can ask the doctor to give you "provera" to induce it. I will say this though... you may just want to let your body do it on its own. Trust that it will. It may take time, but it will. The Dr. gave me provera to take to force my period... its 7 pills and you take all 7 and within days of the last pill you should start bleeding... Well, day 5 of 7 of the pill I found out I was pregnant. So, I was trying to force a period when I was pregnant and could have forced a miscarriage (aborted it) without knowing. I am glad that I took a pregnancy test before that last pill. If I didn't get pregnant, then I would have had period on day 49 after the surgery. Its called patience... __Kristy- Good luck on the adoption!! I am originally from Chicago in the states but live overseas on Japan due to the military. Been to Hong Kong, etc... I think you'll like it. Its going to be a bit of culture shock, but its a neat experience. There are so many kids here in Asia that are treated so poorly and need homes.. its good to see you are taking one in. So congrats on your coming up new arrival (daughter)... I'm sure she'll be an angel. :)

Daniella - January 24

Sharon_ Congrats!!! That is so wonderful!! I was wondering what happened to you. Wow... yea, I got pregnant this time with least expecting it also. I mean, if you just read what I wrote.. I was taking meds to force my period because I hadn't got it yet... NOT thinking I was actually pregnant. So, it does come with patience and when your not over stressing. So, once again.. congrats!!! Are they putting you on progesterone supplements to keep the lining strong for implantation this time?? or anything?

Liz H - January 24

**Daniella** Yes, I used an LH test strip. What you need to know about me is that pre-pregnancy I have always ovulated like clock-work. I bought the cheap LH test strips to track my cycle and each time it came exactly on day 14 of my 28 day cycle. I got pregnant on the 3rd try with my daughter, and 2nd try with this last one. Getting pregnant is luckily (so far) not my problem! I was given one of those "daily" trackers - clear blue or something like that. Really expensive, but since it was free to me I took it. Just had to buy the sticks. Once my daughter was 9 months old we wanted to get pregnant again and were in a bit of a hurry due to my age - 38. My cycle was all screwy still - I got my period when she was only 3 months old, but it was coming every other month, or approx. every 56 days. I didn't want to waste any time, so when we were ready (and I was getting a period every month) we started using the clear blue thing. I got pregnant the second month! ANYWAY, sorry so long! I've never heard of the scope - it sounds interesting (I looked it up). Thanks for the info on the provera too. Somehow I didn't catch the name when I was at the drs ofc. Good luck to everyone out there... and YES, ADOPTION is a WONDERFUL thing! My sister adopted after years of trying, and she is so blissfully happy with her now 8 year old son! :)

Daniella - January 24

Liz- yea its hard to track ovuation exactly after giving birth or a miscarriage, even if your cycles have always been clockwork. Just takes time to get back. Yet, it sounds like your getting it done fairly easily. :) Just bd (have s_x) every other night and you should be fine. It sounds like you have just ovulated as you stated. So, I would take a test in about 10-14 days from then if your AF (period) still hasn't come by then. Good luck!!

HI everyone,......sorry have been off this site for over 3 months now,.......but had to go to the therapist for emotional support....it wasnt working out great for me to actually work the m/c myself..... *daniella* congratulations. Glad to hear ur pregnancy is progressing very well. How is mrs. Texas doing???..... We actually we'e started ttc again as my cycle are now more predictable....n i also feel like i m emotionally back on track...... Has anyone noticed that their cycles changed after the m/c. I mean frm the usual 28 days to sumthing like 30 or 32 days??? Is that normal??? For all those who lost recently,.......i feel ur pain and hang in there it does get better. For those who're expecting again, Congratulations and wishing u all the very best. *Lots and lotsa Baby dust.*

Sharon - January 24

No drugs to help me along. Since I only had one miscarriage I do not think they consider me a high risk patient... I am super duper nervous. I keep telling myself to embrace my pregnancy and if I miscarry then it was meant to be. I mean after all I do have this great new puppy to keep me busy..lol I have to admit that I did take a third preg test today just to see if the line is getting darker. Glad to hear that Daniella is getting along good in her pregnancy.

Hello, I just wondered if its ok to talk to you as you all seem to be in the same boat as me. I mc on new years eve and want to ttc asap also. i have no-one else to speak to about this.

nicole nelson - January 27

hello ladies i am back up and running again. glad to hear everyone is ok. gemini_star you can ttc whenever you think you are physically and emotionally ready. sometimes it is best to wait for af though to make sure you are regular and you ovulate, but you know your body best. most important you have to be emotionally ready. good luck and God bless you all.

Hello ladies, I've been reading all of your posts and have found them to be a great big help. I had a m/c in early Jan and have yet to have my af. I had a follow up with my dr a week ago and she sd that i was still testing pos, but that my hcg level was 9.5. She sd that I either still had hcg in my system from the m/c or I was pg again. I know that every pg is different but I had a m/c in 9/04, took a test 2 wks later it was ng then 2 wks after that I found out I was pg with my daughter...who is a beautiful and healthy 10 mth old. I just don't know whether to get my hopes up or not....good luck to all of you out there who are ttc.
