Answer Brand Pregnancy Test What Happened

I bought an Answer pregnancy test yesterday and tested. I noticed right after I took it that the expiration date is 4/22/05! Looking at the test as i was waiting I saw the left line (one that means you're pregnant) showed up really dark in about 30 seconds. However, the control line (the one that should show up no matter what on the right side of the window) wasn't there. After the 3 minutes, it was VERY faint. What could that mean? Called the company and she said it doesn't matter what shade it is. I'm just not so sure it worked properly. What do you think???????
