Are Blood Test As Accurate As They Say

I wanted to know if any one out there has had the same problem as myself. I am now nearly 2 weeks late and have taken a home test which has come up positive with a real dark line i saw my doctor and then he told me to go and get a blood test the result that i have got back is inconclusive how does this work. I am confused and a little upset as i have now been trying for over 1 year and don't know what to think.
