Hi. I took and equate test which came out -, but after I threw it out I realized I never put the cap back on the urine strip (as instructed to do)...I just placed the test on top of the box it came in and I took a quick shower (i peeked out in the given time frame but neg. result)...so does this matter if air hits it or anything? Thanks.

I don't think that would really matter since some women report getting a positive result before they are even finished unrinating on the stick. You can call the customer care line on the box and ask them if you want to be absolutely sure though. Good luck to you L ~
