HPT Right After A Quot Weird Quot Period

I had this unusual AF where it went for 2.5 days as usual, then stopped as usual, but came back a bit later, and much lighter. Everything else seemed normal though. Is it advisable to take a HPT now, since it seems it's over?

Why would someone advise you to take a HPT even though you had your period. Even if it was a little different then norm. that should mean a pregnancy is a negative.

I've read in other posts that just because a period came, it doesn't clear me of pregnancy. I've always had rather consistent periods, but this one was different. I guess I just wanna have all my bases covered, rather than a__suming that I'm not pregnant. I just want to know when the best time is to take a hpt.

if you get an unusual period it can be a sign of pregnancy. there are some women that have bleeding simular to a period in the first trimester,so yes jade you are right in thinking that,take a hpt and see what happens.

Well, it's now been 3 days since this "weird" period ended. I took a hpt, even though I'm not sure about the timing. It turned up a strong negative, but I'm still not sure. I have no symptoms whatsoever, but still worry. I bought an extra test to use, maybe in a few more days.
