You can get very sensitive, cheap, test strips from www.babyhopes.com
They can detect as little as 20 mIU of hCG (pregnancy hormone). The website claims that the test can detect pregnancy a few days before your period is due. Most store bought brands can detect between 50 and 100 mIU of hCG. The lower the number, the more sensitive.
