Spotting And EPT Question

My wife took an EPT test with lines in each window perpendicular to eachother. She said this meant that she is pregnant, but now she says she is spotting. What does this mean?

Disregard my question. My wife handed me something yesterday and told me she is pregnant. She didn't read the directions, because it clearly states that the perpendicular line means not pregnant.
