If you are having an ectopic pregnancy, will an at home test confirm or deny pregnancy?

I have taken 2 tests and they both have a dark blue line and a faint blue line that you can see clearly. I am just curious if I could be pregnant, hasanyone else had this happen to them? I am 22 years old and am married and was hoping someone could help me?
