You can if you want to get an inaccurate result. It wouldn't be wise to take a test sooner than 5 days before your expected period because it would probably be a waste of money, and it probably wont be an accurate result. That is probably too soon to pick up on the pregnancy hormone. Some people can be days even weeks late and still get a negative reading, when in fact they are actually pregnant. It all depends on the amount of the pregnancy hormone your body is producing.
