I am 12 days late today. I have taken 3 home pregnacy tests all negative. Went to the doctor today to have my bld work done..should know the results tomorrow. This is driving me crazy...I just want to know. My husband and I have been trying for about 6months now. My periods are very regular. It feels like some cruel joke being played on me each time a preg. test shows up negative. It has really helped reading these posts...I don't feel as alone.

I had a miscarriage 4 months ago and have been very anxious to conceive again. Ever since miscarriage I have had regular periods. Right now I am 4 days late and have taken two pregnancy tests, both are negative. It is so disappointing to see a negative result. I really feel like I'm pregnat because this is how I felt last time. I am trying to be patient, but it is very hard! I am calling dr tomorrow to see if I can have a blood test done.

I'm bfing my 5 mo old and am on the mini pill-but have missed a few doses. I havent started having periods yet..but I have all the symptoms of pregnancy...nausea, irritable, sore b___sts...I've taken 3 HPTs and all bfn but I have two kids and know what pregnancy feels like and I feel pregnant. When I got pregnant with my dd I also hadnt started my periods yet... i ovulated and got preggo the first shot after I weaned by son. I feel dumb going into the dr for a blood test when all the HPTs are negative!

I have been taking Prometrium for several months for PCOS. My period is 12 days late and I just took a pregnancy test and it came out positive. Is it possible that the Prometrium can cause a false reading?

Hi everyone. Here's my situation: In July 2005 my husband had a vasectomy reversal. So we've been ttc since then with no luck yet. My periods have ALWAYS been right on time (28 day cycle). Then for the first time ever, in Nov/2005 I had a regular period and then another 12 days later. It lasted three days but it was heavier than normal. I went to the doctor and he examined me and said I was fine, and he didn't know the cause of the abnormal bleeding and it could possibly have been implantation bleeding and to wait and see what happens. I had my next period (Dec/2005) 25 days later. That one was a little heavier than normal too with small clots which is unusual for me, but it only lasted three days also. In Jan/2006, on the 16th day into my cycle, my b___st nipples became very sore. That's never happened to me before. Usually, my b___sts get tender exactly a week before I start. The nipple soreness got progressively worse with each day to where even my night shirt rubbing on it felt uncomrftable or the shower spray on them hurt too. On the 28th day of my cycle, my period started and the nipple soreness immediately stopped at that point and I had a regular three day period. Then in Feb/2006 my period started early on the 17th day of my cycle. I had what appeared to be a regular period except when it was finished, I had some pink spotting for six days, it skipped a day and then I had spotting again for three more days. THIS spotting has NEVER happened before. My next period was due March 6 and it hasn't come yet. I took a HPT (equate brand) on the second day of lateness and it was negative, but I did the test in the afternoon and the box said it's best to use first morning urine, but I was impatient like we all are. I'm going out of town to my moms on Monday morning, so by then I will be 7 days late and I will take a second HPT that morning before I leave home. I would LOVE to be able to tell my mom she'll be a grandmother!! But....I don't want to get my hopes up right now, but it sure is hard not to. I just turned 41 and I was afraid that perhaps I was going through perimenopause and was why my periods have suddenly become unpredictable these last few months. However, I saw my regular physician several weeks ago and we talked about my periods (I had no idea I was going to have a problem again this month at that time) and I requested that he do blood work to check my cholesterol. Well, I thought the nurse was taking an awful lot of blood from me just for a cholesterol check, but today I got a test result in the mail and one of the tests my doctor performed without my knowledge was a FSH (follicle stimulating hormone). I don't know much about it but it seems it is one of the tests they do to check fertility, and I was so happy that my results were in the normal range. So even if I'm not pregnant this month, I know there's still a chance that it can happen. I've never been pregnant before, so I don't know what to expect to feel, and I know every one is different. I've read what the symptoms are and I don't have any of them, except for a dull lower backache, but I don't know if that is one of the symptoms or not. Some sites say it is but others don't even mention it. I'm not sure, but my b___bs seem like they're beginning to get sore, but that might from me continually pressing on them to see if they are sore or not. If they are, it might mean I'll have my period in 7 days which is one of the signs I've always had that I'll start. <sigh>..... If it's going to start, I wish it would just hurry up and do it, so I'll know what's going on! This is frustrating! I'll keep you guys updated. I hope to hear that some of you are pregnant, it gives me hope.

Has anyone ever been late by a few days when they have been regular forever, and had a blood test to find out its negative, yet sore, sore b___st and feel pregnant????

mother2B - March 13

Michelle K...if your blood test shows neg, but u have sore nipples, and feel pregnant....Chances are u still could be. You should consult with your doctor and ask him to check your tubes. Cause their is a possiblilty you could be pregnant in your tubes. YES...pregnant in your tubes. And if you are it would not show up on the pregnancy tests. The bad thing is the baby cannot survive. By the baby developing in your tubes, it has no room to grow properly. So they would have to prescribe some medication to "stop" the development or you could get very sick and they would have to remove one of your fallopian tubes. This incident happen to me 2yrs ago. True Story. I'm not saying this is whats wrong but I hope it helps you find a solution.

ABGB-Mom of twins!!! - March 15

Hello everyone, I'm on my third day of NOT having a period. I've been waiting...I took two pregnancy tests (the dollar store version that is supposted to be really sensitive) that both came back negative. I have been urinating a lot for often than usual, my b___sts seem bigger to me, and still no sign of AF. My cervix is really soft, which can be a sign of pregnancy. I have been pregnant before...around this time last year to be exact...and I waited four days after I had missed my period to test, and I ended up taking three tests that day-all came back positive. By that weekend, I had morning sickness that lasted for over a month. In my heart before I found out I was pregnant I already KNEW that I was, and about a month later I kind of felt like maybe I was having twins. My doctor scheduled an ultrasound and as soon as it began we saw two babies on the screen. I'm thinking that since I had twins and a lot of my symptoms were exagerated maybe the pregnancy test picked up the pregnancy hormone earlier than it normally would have. I will tell you this-the pregnancy was heck, and I delivered at 32 weeks because I had preeclampsia. My boyfriend at the time (who later became my husband about a month before the babies were born) didn't really help and put a lot of stress on me, but he's a great father. He doesn't want more children but I wanted one more. So here's the situation now- I'm on day three of being late, no period in sight, two negative pregnancy tests, and wondering if I am pregnant again. We use condoms but I know that at least twice this month we just pulled out with no condom, but I'm still worried. I don't think I'm pregnant...and I don't want to be right now because I gave birth via C-section and want to go for VBAC, but can't unless it's been at least two years since my c-section, plus financially we are struggling as it is. My periods are always on time, and at most are a day late. I usually can predict them down to the day!!! But, I guess I'll wait ten days then re-test if AF doesn't visit. My husband says some women miss their periods for months at a time (he's referring to his ex girlfriend, who was on drugs and was an athlete, so I know that that probably had something to do with it) but that's not normal for me at all. I started my periods when I was 12, I am now 18 and will be turning 19 in August. The only time I haven't been normal was when I was pregnant, and after the birth in September my period came in November. Does anyone have any encouragement you can give me? I really could use it right now!!! God bless all of you and I hope you all get the result you are hoping for. :)

I'm now 9 days late. The HPT I did Monday morning was negative. I was talking to my husbands daughter in law last night and she told me that one of her friends just found out yesterday that she is pregnant. The girl had taken FOUR home tests and all came out negative until yesterday she had a very faint positive and her doctor told her that even though the line is very faint it means she IS pregnant. Like me the girl had NO symptoms and I asked how long before she got the positive reading and I was told TWO AND A HALF WEEKS!! So maybe there's still a chance that I could be. I'm not going to get my hopes up yet, I'm just going to be patient and test again next week. I have a doctor appointment for March 30. I'm keeping my fingers crossed that we all get the results we're hoping for.

i am 3 weeks late and i taken hpt all came back neg. someone help and tell me what could be going on

Lisa P - March 16

Well....I'm NOT pregnant. I started my period this morning after being 10 days late. I figured out what happened though. I've been tracking my cycle for the last several months and I noticed that my period always started exactly 18 days from the last day of my ovulation, so I counted 18 days from when I last ovulated (late February) and put a red mark on todays date and wouldn't you know it??? That was the cause. I'm feeling sick to my stomach with period cramps. Hopefuly the Advil will kick in soon and I'll feel better. I'm disappointed that I'm not pregnant this month, but I know that it will happen one of these days, IF it's meant to be. Good Luck to all you ladies here who want to be pregnant. I'm sure I'll be back at some point in the future. Take care everyone.
