I am new to this site but i have been online reading for the past week... here is my situation any advice would help. I stopped taking birth control in July and have had 28 - 38 day cycles every moth, This month i started spotting two days before my period was due on 10/16 and it continued for exactly one week 10/23 it was brown and a light pink at times but was just drops at times barely even there. i have been having headaches, backache and cramping but very mild and not like usual cramping that i get. Thsi is by far not a normal period for me. I am currently a week and a day late as i was suppose to get it on 10/18 if my cycle was goign to be 28 days. I have taken two pregnancy tests but both are negative. this is driving me crazy has anyone else experienced this?

Hi Roberts69 I went through the exact same tests as you are currently going through and they are worth it. I had the regular blood tests which also showed that i wasnt ovulating every month, i had the tests over a 3 month period and one of those months i didnt ovulate. I had to go for further tests after this to rule out anything else and luckily all was clear. I was prescribed Clomid as this helps to stimulate the ovaries, I then disposed of all the testing kits i bought and just took the tablets, relaxed and had intercourse every other day from the day my period stopped right up until it was due again. It worked as i am due to give birth in the next 2 weeks. Keep at it as the tests are well worth it in the end. Alison xx

Hi Alison, it's lovely to hear your good news!! Can I ask how many rounds of clomid it took you or was it your first cycle? I'm on my second cycle and am trying to relax and be positive that this will be the month! Best wishes for the birth and congratulations. It lifts the heart to hear success stories! XXX

Hi rosa I got pregnant on my second cycle, all I can say is just relax and if possible try and have intercourse every other day, we just relaxed and when I got to day 40 I tested. I am proof that it works as I never thought it would work that quickly and I hear from most that when taking clomid you tend to conceive on your second or third cycle. Good luck and fingers crossed that it happens for you this cycle, cramps are normally a good sign. Xxx

Asha...congrats!!! Thought I'd give you guys an update. I went to my OB yesterday, and she drew some blood for a blood pg test. She also ran a PCOS panel. She seems to think that is more likely my issue. I should know something soon, and we've already set up another appt for next week to discuss next steps...either prenatal care (I hope) or possibly starting on Clomid or Metformin. I'll let you know what happens!!

Hi All, I haven't been here since my surgery 5 weeks ago. So here's my update. I had the laprascopy surgery so know we have many answers. There is a little bit of endometriosis, adhesions, and extra skin blocking the openings of my tubes. All easy fixes and according to my doctor I am all cleaned out!! I am currently on my second cycle of clomid and on 10/23 we were inseminated. Before the insemination I had ultrasounds done starting on Day 12 o fmy cycle for the follicle study. This is amazing because they can tell exactly when your ovulating and look at the follicles in your ovaries. They also know which ovary is ovulating that month. I started prometrium pills last night so now we are just waiting until next Wednesday when I can take a pregnancy test. We are praying the test comes back positive. Our fertility specialist is wonderful and was so happy with all our results this month. I guess it's nice to finally have some good news!! Good Luck to all of you!

Hello Guys, Just an update here, we did bloodwork last week and my Blood serum HCG level came back at a 1, (5-9 is early pregnancy) So the doctor believes that I was pregnant but miscarried early. Told me that 1 of every 3 pregnancies end this way, but not to worry. He said that since my cycles are very regular normally that I am ovulating and to not worry about it and keep on trying. I wish you guys all the best and bushels of Baby Dust to all!! I will keep you posted on the next cycles to come. :)

Hi Becky We were properly trying for over a year when i decided to go to my GP, i was on the pill prior to this. The GP took some blood tests which showed that i wasnt ovulating so i was referred to a specialist. I got the appointment letter within a week and was told that i have to have some routine checks over a period of 3 months, this is the normal procedure that you have to go through when having any fertility issues. They tend to do it over a 3 month period as certain tests have to be done at a certain time during your cycle and if you miss one then it can be easily done the month after. The specialist gave me some paperwork that i was to take to the GP on day 21 of each cycle for a blood test, they did the routine STD checks and the final one was where they insert dye into your fallopian tubes and then take an Xray to see if there is any problems (doesnt sound nice but its not too bad). I also had to take 2 samples of my husbands sperm to the hospital and this has to arrive at the hospital within 2 hours of ejaculation and needed to stay warm. The specialist collates all the results and books an appointment to see you at the end of the 3 months to discuss. Everything was fine with mine and hubbys results apart from the blood tests showed i only ovulated in my first cycle and not the other two. I was prescribed clomid there and then at 50mg for 3 cycles and was also given an appointment for the end of the 3 months for my dose to be increased to 100mg if i hadnt conceived. I took clomid on day 2 to 6 of my period and then had intercourse frequently all month, I didnt use any charting or ovulation kits i just relaxed. The first month i had very early miscarriage which was just like a heavy period and then the second month i fell pregnant. I dont know if you will have to go through the exact same tests as not sure if all PCT's work the same but i hope this gives you hope. The months flew by and its really worth having to go through. Ask as many questions as you like as i know it can be very stressful and upsetting when all you want is for your period to not show. If the only issue is not ovulating then by taking clomid you are almost certain to fall pregnant as that is the whole purpose of the drug to stimulate your ovaries, so I hope you get it asap. I am having a girl she is due very soon and i am sure that over the next few months you will also have some great news too. Alison xx
