Roberts69...best of luck with the appointment next Wednesday - sounds like you've been through a lot and I really hope it works out - I'm on second cycle of clomid as I was a hit and miss at ovulation. Being on it has given me peace of mind. If your doc does prescribe clomid for you ask if you can have the day 21 blood test to check your hormone levels and make sure you ovulated. I'm sure you'll have success soon!! xxbaby dust to allxx
Congratulations to all the recent success stories - gives us hope :o)

ok so i went to the doctor today and he told me i have PCOS??? but he only checked my urine for pregnancy?
Can anyone give me there opinion on this???? I stopped birth control in July after being on it for almost 4 years and my period in August was a 35 day cycle and in Sertember it was 40 now in October i started spotting on day 26 and lasted abuot a week? but it was so light i really didnt need a tampon? and did not get cramps like i usually do, they were barely there. now i am being told i have PCOS and to go back on birth control and we will talk again in February about Clomid? does this sound right? I always thought it took a couple of months for your period to regulate again once coming off Birth control? Please help!!! I keep getting headaches too?

ASM - I got pregnant last year with twins (one was ectopic though so that didn't work out) and all of the other times I THOUGHT I was pregnant due to symptoms, I wasn't. My cycle was a bit wonky at the time (due to a colposcopy *sic?*)I got pregnant and I didn't think I could (as I had NO idea when I was ovulating since I didn't have any of my normal ovulation symptoms) and I had NO pregnancy symptoms and lo and behold, I WAS!
So, until the fat lady sings, or as it were, Aunt Flo arrives, don't give up hope, :o)

AMG1219- I'm not sure about PCOS as I've never suffered but it would be worth checking out more information on it... Why would you need to go back on birth control until Feb and then talk about Clomid? I wonder would be it worth while for you to seek a second opinion. Were any tests run or are there any that you can request for this to confirm? Good luck..

AMG- I would most definitely get a second opinion. They can not fully diagnose PCOS without doing a laprascopy procedure. It may be a possibility with certain symptoms but they still need to look at the ovaries in full color with the laprascope. I had this done 5 weeks ago and it's not that bad. It's an actual surgery where you get put under with general aneathsia. I would not go back on birth control and look into clomid because they will regulate your ovulation.
It's so upsetting to listen to all your stories about the Dr.s who just don't seem to care what we are going through. I've said this before but we are paying them to care for us. You all deserve a genuine Dr. to care for you!!! If they don't want to take care of you then find someone who will!! Trust me there are wonderful Drs. out there!!!

I think i am going to get a second opinion because i just felt like he brushed me off and didnt look into anything. He told me its PCOS with out doing anything just talking to me.

i would definatley get a second opinion, i doesnt make sense why they would want you to go back on your pill when you want to try for a baby, and if he hasnt done all the tests for PCOS then how can he diagnose it...!!! i had lots of blood tests done which showed fine, except my ovualtion, i had this one done 3x and eventually my levels went up which meant i was ovulating just not regular....i came off my pill in dec and still me periods are irregular....but we was told that after the blood test that we might have to go on to clomid, but for some reason this was not given to us as an option after the blood tests, and we was told theres about a 6mth waiting list!! which is why we are going to see another doc!! so i would go to another and see a different doc, if you havnt even had blood tests!!! xx babay dust xx

There is no waiting list!! When you are sick and need an antibiotic, is there a waiting list for that...NO!!! These Doctors are out of their mind!!!
Pregnancy test Wednesday morning but I still have NO symptoms so I'm sure it's going to be another disappointing negative. I guess we'll see..

tell me about it...my docs arent that great either....we have to ring for appointments between 8.30 and 9.30 but can never seem to get an appointment...usually cant get an appointment for a week!! if not more....its a real pain!! and really annoying....!!! ggrrrr..... me and my hubby have finally got another apointment but with a women doc, even though the male doc sent me for blood tests, he didnt really do alot :-( and my friend recommended a women doc...so hopefully she might do something for us on wednesday...i hope so any way....because my periods were delayed i thought that i might of been pregnant, i have had months of negatives....its really upsetting....i just gotta face that my periods are irregular....and because of this i have no idea when i am ovualating!! so we gotta relax and take each day as it comes....but i still want a second opinion cause we dont want to wait to long....its been 11 months since we been trying and we so want to start our family xxbaby dustxx

hi syd reyes, are your periods regular? do you know what cycle you are on, your date from the 1st day of your last period of the 29th would put you now on day 32/33 depending on when you took your test, i would probably take another test in a couple of days if you still have no sign of period, are you trying to get pregnant? are you on birth conrtol?

Ok so i am waiting to make an appointment to get my second opinion about PCOS, but i still have not gotten my period so now i am 2 weeks late minus the minimal spotting i had, and I am still having headaches, does anyone think i should be concerned?

amg1219....when did you take your last pregnancy test? If it was a while ago then it might be worth while taking another one. A missed period with a negative test could be because you didn't ovulate last month and it might right itself this month. How soon do you think you can get an appointment for second opinion? The headaches could be from the stress you are under while you are waiting for answers. Any major stress/weight loss/gain change in routine could delay your period. If your concerned see if you can speak to a different doc to put your mind at rest. Good luck and keep in touch x

So this morning was again another HUGE disappointment. After a month of clomid and insemination we thought for sure this would be it! But my pregnancy test this morning told us otherwise.
I want to give more then anything because I can't handle another month of doctor appts, ultrasounds, and all the meds.
Good Luck.
