So this morning was again another HUGE disappointment. After a month of clomid and insemination we thought for sure this would be it! But my pregnancy test this morning told us otherwise. I want to give more then anything because I can't handle another month of doctor appts, ultrasounds, and all the meds. Good Luck.

Tell me about. It's something you are reminded of everyday you leave the security of your home. This past month was our first month of clomid and the insemination. Our fertility specialist does 3 months of the insemination before she sends us away to a more advanced specialist about IVF. I guess we have 2 months left. I have to call me Dr. this morning and see if she wants to increase my clomid dosage this month. Now we just have to wait for my period to come and go from there. The worst part about this whole thing is I've lost all faith in God. Good luck at your appt today and let me know!

yep it is indeed :-S let me know what your doc says later hun...and i know what you mean by loosing faith...its so not fair....i hope the dr doesnt turn me away today and tell me to wait for the letter....i really dont want to have to wait another 6mths... :( im going to read up some more on clomid and see what its about and try make sense of it all, when yoy need to take it etc....will update you tomorrow and let you know what the doc says xx

The my Dr. called this morning. They still tell me everything is fine and I need to relax. My stress is way out of control and could be causing problems. I try so hard not to be stress but it's the most difficult thing I've had to manage. I guess I need to manage it better. Let's just hope my monthly friend comes soon so I can move onto the next cycle.

Hi asm100309...sorry to hear your news. I'm just coming up to end of second month clomid and I'm pretty sure it's another failure for us too... I just wanted to let you know that my cycle on first round of clomid went to 33 days... I think it's a common side effect for it to delay your period and that extra time is very confusing and frustrating as you just want to start the next phase... Good luck to you for your next round... I hear if you promise St. Anthony a donation if he delivers and say his prayer for a miracle he might listen...I did it this month so will see in the next week or two if it worked! okay so i went to see the doc, and what a lovely doc she was :) i felt really relax with her and she has given me clomid :) 25 tablets for 3 cycles, 5 tablets for 1st cycle and 10 for the next 2 cycles, she told me they dont usually give it to those who have cycles and can ovulate, but i said to her, my periods are irregular and im obviously not ovulating often, so she was fine giving me my tablets, i guess i have to wait now for my next cycle so i can start my tablets, which my next cycle is a mystery when it will be.... she has also asked for my hubby to send a sample to the specialist, the only thing is we have to get the sample to a certain hospital within an hour and we live about an hour from the hospital....not good....so its gonna be hell of a hour....but we gotta see if my hubby is ok....xx asm100309- with being on clomid and being unsuccesful, you will never want your next cylcle to come round so quick so you can try again....your doc is right though try not to think and stress over it to much, easier said than done i know but try to relax a bit, we all need to relax and take each day as i comes....xx hopefully it will happen for us xx Rosa38- hope you dont mind me asking a few questions?? when on clomid im a__suming that it helps you ovulate and then your period should come....should clomid help periods become more regular? should periods come within 28-35 days with being on clomid? also when do you take a test after taking the clomid and leaving the ovulation time to pa__s....what day have you been told to take a test? xx baby dust xx

Roberts69 That's great news about clomid, your dr has given you a good dose as when I got mine I was given only 5 pills for each cycle which I took on day 2 to 6. Don't stress at all now I can't tell you enough, just relax dont think about when your ovulating etc just have intercourse every other day from the moment your period stops and just keep going. The first cycle if clomid I took made my cycle go from 32 days to 40 so it can delay periods so don't let that worry you. Have you got 50mg or 100? I kept a diary of the days we had intercourse but I didn't bother with charting as I needed to relax. We also had to get my husbands sperm to the hospital within the hour which was fun but I did call ahead and they gave us a little extra time as long as you keep the sample warm, once he has filled the container don't let him put it down on a cold surface put_t straight into his or your pocket, it's all fun lol but worth it. HI Roberts69, no problem answering questions. Yes clomid helps kick start ovulation. It all depends on when you start your clomid (different people are advised to start it on different days - I'm day 1) If you do a search on babymed . com you will find an ovulation calculator for clomid users (I'm not allowed to put a web address in my posts here) My cycles were anywhere from day 24 to 30 before Clomid but my first cycle on clomid went to day 33 which I believe is perfectly normal and I expect it will be the same this month. I have been warned that ovulation testing kits aren't reliable when taking clomid so I just look out for the signs. Around day 15 I get crammps and a discharge which I'm a__suming is the time when ovulation is starting. We go for it every second day from day 10 through to 22 going every day for the day or two when I feel I'm ovulating. I'm not sure about pregnancy tests so I'm going to test at day 28 and if I feel the need retest again at day 31. Hope this helps and I'm happy to help with any other questions. Oh and I found I am experiencing a side effect of clomid whereby I am showing signs of pregnancy towards the end of the cycle - frustrating first time round but good to know now that it's just a side effect! thank you both for getting back to me :) im really glad they have given me something to try before going to see a specialist cause another 6mths would be a nightmare to wait....i have been advised to take 50mg my first cycle on day 2-7 and then have intercourse around 2 days a week....but that doesnt seem enough to me so we are going to have intercourse every other day like we do now...why break a habit :) but i will continue to make a note of what days we are having intercourse on aswell :) if we are unsuccesful on the first month then i will be taking 2x tablets for 5 days day 2-7 so 100mg and the same the 3rd cycle....with regards to taking the sample to the hospital i think its going to be an adventure lol....sounds like it could be interesting!! lol!!! do you get the results of the sperm count and everything that day?? what sort of side effects??/pregnancy signs have you had do you mind me asking?? so with the clomid then, i should have more regular periods? xxbaby dustxx

side effects I've seen are...cramping and bloating at time of ovulation...the bloating calmed down after a couple of days but it's back now a week later and I feel nauseous in the afternoon/evenings (exact same as how morning sickness kicked in last two times), heavy feeling in my stomach, also hormones are making me emotional, get tired much earlier at night, tender b___sts, increased appet_te... I don't think I had all these symptoms last month but seem to be going through it all this month! I suspect you will have more regular periods while you are on the clomid but be prepared for long cycles. I'm only on 50mg x 5 day dosage so not sure how 100mg effects.. xx

My only side effects on the clomid have been hot flashes. I only get them on the days I'm taking the pills. My Dr. has me on 50mg days 3-7. My Dr. also rea__sured me that clomid can make your cycle a little longer. I am a regular 28-29 day cycle and she said on the clomid it can go to 35 days which is normal. Today is day 27 so we will see when I start. We have been through 2 sperm a___lysis. It's really not that bad. We live about 20 minutes from the hospital and they want it there within 30 minutes. It's just important to have the collection cup body temperature before the sample and keep it warm until you arrive. What I did was warmed the cup in an electric blanket and let the blanket stay on until the sample is collected. Unplugged it, put the cup in and drove to the hospital. According to the Drs. my Husband is fertile myrtle!!!!!! I guess that leaves me as the problem which has been something I am struggling with. Blame and guilt is taking over my life. really, jee whiz, okay, well i do get some of those symptoms, i think theres 2 weeks out of 6/7/8 weeks that i dont feel bloated, and heavy etc... the first few months of trying to conceive i thought that maybe i could of been pregnant because of the delay in my period, expecting to be a 28 day cycle because thats wha ti was on the pill...its only until you read up on things you actually realise what happens with cycles, concieving etc.... but i guess cause of my irregular periods, ive been having 2 periods in one, so i guess my mind played tricks on me with the different feelings, and i guess thats why i felt so minging, emotional, tierd, etc...so some of that i experience must be something to do with my hormones being all over the place.....i dunno...dont know if that made any sense lol....so when are you ready to test? when you say long cycles do you mean longer bleed? sorry if i sound a bit dull xxbaby dustxx

asm100309 - i guess everyones differnet with side effects and when they have been told to take the clomid....so what days are best to take a test if your period doesnt arrive? have you been told to take a test on day 28? have you had any symptoms of your period on its way? im asking cause when i had my period because my periods were so irregular i just didnt know when was best to take the test....i guess when i start to take clomid, after 35 days, if i dont have my period by then maybe that would probably be the best time for me to take a test...its earlys days yet i guess to be talking about that, so until my next cycle which could be a long way off cause my last period was 20th October....i guess until i start to take the clomid, maybe closer the time i would know whhat i would need to do....and when to do it....xx baby dust xx

ok, so... me and my husband have been trying to get prego for a year and 4 months now. Stinks nothing but close calls :-( my b___bes have been getting bigger day by day but every month i get my period it just keeps coming a few days later than what it was the month before. yesterday we were trying to have a baby and i got this pain in my lower belly... hurt so bad. now my belly keeps making noises as if it was grawling at me. idk what it is ... any help?

I didnt really have any side effects from the tablets, i took 50mg on day 2 to 6 and my cycles were normally every 32 days but my first cycle on clomid made my period start on day 41 and a few days prior to this i had strong cramps and clotting, GP advised this may have been a very early miscarriage. I continued to take the next course again on day 2 to 6 and again period did not show on the usual 32 days, with all the will power i had i decided not to test as i didnt want to be disappointed if it was negative, i started getting the cramps again but continued having intercourse every other day, when i got to day 42 i had strong cramps and sore b___sts and a__sumed period was coming but thought i would test with a clearblue digi test and it was positive. I felt fine from then on until i was about 8 weeks when the sickness started and the smell of any food especially meat made me so sick. The clomid is suppose to make your periods more regular but you can ovulate as late as day 21 on it, which is what happened in my case so dont worry if your cycles shorten or lengthen just relax, have s_x every other day throughout the month and keep a diary and dont be too upset if it doesnt happen the first cycle just put that to the back of your mind and start your second cycle and again relax. I bet you cant wait to start taking the tablet lol, as soon as i got it i couldnt wait for my period to start and that was a first. The test results for hubby went to GP some days after, i think you can ring in for them. Keep me updated and if you have any questions about symptons etc let me know, I am so positive about clomid as for me it was the best thing to ever happen to me and i hope it works for you ladies too. xx
