Clinic said negative urine test-duh-isn't that what I used at home? Said I should wait to take blood test. Forget it, I will wait until Dr. Appt 12/15 and have her do the blood test- I'm more comfortable w/ her anyway...So now I still have no sign of starting, extremely tired in afternoons, hungry all the time, frequent bathroom trips, moodier than normal, etc. I don't know how late I actually am since I was 10 days late Sept. so I am either 27 days late or 18 days. When your late do you count off when you end that late period or when you should have ended? Unfortunately I am too anxious and will probably try several tests before my appt. Good luck

YES I DO HAVE REGULAR CYCLES. I COME ON THE 1ST WEEK OF EVERY MONTH. I ALSO HAVEN'T BEEN ON BC SINCE 1997. SO WHERE THE HELL IS MY PERIOD???

Tracy - November 18

I'm 37, married and trying for a baby. Had regualr periods my entire life, both on and off bc. Was on the pill for many years and went off a few months after I got married. Got pregnant almost immediately after going off bc in February 05 and miscarried in April 05. Had 2 normal periods, got pregnant again in July 05 and miscarried again in August 05. Went to specialist who put me on clomid for 5 days, got an ultrasound to determine ovulation date and had IUI plus lots of s_x during the week of ovulation. Began progesterone suppositories a few days after ovulation since the doc thinks my problem is retaining the pregnancy (not getting preg) and it should help my lining support the preg. Now my period is 5 days late and my hpt was negative. Any thoughts?

I'm VERY regular and have missed my period both last month and this month. Haven't used b/c since 2002 when I had a tubal, but I have all the signs of pregnancy, minus a positive home test. Going to the doctor next week to see if there's something else going on. I feel pregnant, but I shouldn't with the tubal AND the negative test. Oh, holy cow. Maybe we're just REALLY fertile. 2 of our 3 kids were concieved while using various forms of b/c.

Lanie-how are you doing with the progesterone? I have been on it for 4 days and I am really moody and have gained 3 pounds, but still no period. How about you?

Tracy - Oh My God!!!!!!!!!!!!! Reading your story was just like I had writen it. I am 36 and trying to have a baby. Haven't been on birth control since 2001 (when I was with my husband) but haven't been having intercourse either. Then when my current boyfriend and I started sleeping together we got pregnant almost immediately. I miscarried May 18/05 and was pregnant again by the end of June. I then miscarried at 8 weeks. Had one not so normal period and then one normal one. I am now 22 days late, feel pregnant but my HPT's were negative and my blood work showed my HGC level as being below 5. My doctor feels, as your does, that getting pregnant is not the problem, it's retaining the pregnancy.

I have been reading this page for over an hour now and am glad to hear I'm not alone. My husband and I decided we would start trying for our first baby. I went off the pill in July. My first cycle was 32 days but the subsequent ones have been 30 days and almost at the same time of the day. I am one week and one day late but have had 4 negative hpt results. I am so excited and nervous so I have also been to the lab for blood work. I get the results on Tuesday. From what I read, can I expect this will be negative? I seem to have some symptoms but I hope it's not all in my head. I'll keep you posted.

Wishful Thinking - November 27

Have you been to your doctor's?

Krissie - November 27

Hi Wishful Thinking I was 2 weeks late and (6)hpts came back neg, went for blood work came back posit_tve. Dr thinks I convived late in my cycle. Won't really know until ultasound thought. Good luck.

ROSEMARY - November 28

IHAVE NEVER BEEN ON ANY PILLS BECAUSE I SINCERELY WANT TO GET PREGNANT, BUT AFTER SEVEN DAYS OF MISSING MY PERIOD, RESULT IS NEGATIVE

Wishful Thinking - November 28

To Krissie; Thanks for your response. I hope that tomorrow brings a positive result at the doctor's. I couldn't believe that in this day and age that an hpt could possibly be negative if I was indeed pregnant. I am so glad to hear that I'm not alone. I'll keep you posted. Again thanks for your response!!

Hello Ladies, I haven't written in a while, but after my last entry, I have gone to the doctor (actually to my fertility specialist, because I couldn't get in to see my regular doctor) He did and ultra sound (which I strongly recommend if you haven't had your period yet) and the Ultra sound showed that I am producing eggs however they are surrounded by cysit. I have PCOS, which causes weight gain, and missed periods, and a number of other things such as hair loss or gain etc... if you need to know anything about Clomid, or Povera, or b/c I'm your girl I've been on and gone through just about everything. Up until this point I never knew what was wrong with me. No one ever told me that I had this problem. But I'm glad that I know now, because I can move on with procedures that will benefit my husbsnd and I. This coming week I will have a "Dye Test" done which will let me know if my tubes are block.. then once the results come back and they find that is not the case. I will begin artificial ins____nation (yeeaaaa) Please ladies..if you have not gone to your doctor..Please do so!! your body is should and awesom temple, and you deserve to know what's going on. I'm not saying that your situation is like mine, but I'm sure that most of you desire a child as much as I do. so PLEASE see your doctors.

I went to get the results from my blood work today and my doctor told me I was in the "gray" area. What the heck does that mean?? He did mention that the hcg level was not low enough to say no and not high enough to confirm it. I'm not sure I understand this. Has anyone experienced this or at least heard about it? I have to say that I'm relieved it's not completely negative. I have a second set of blood work on Thursday. Wish me luck!
