I just turned 35 and had my first IUI procedure on Friday the 1st and Saturday the 2nd. I have had some MAJOR CRAMPS and basically feel awful. I am peeing like a race horse and I threw up this morning. Is this normal?? I pretty much feel like the death is upon me!!

I've had 7 iuis. No, this is not normal. Some cramping is normal but not severe cramps. You should call your dr ASAP. You may have an infection from the procedure.

Also, I have never heard of anyone having cramps this long after--usually it is the day of and maybe the day after. You should definitely get checked out.

lillbitt, I second Ann1's advice. I had my 1st iui yesterday Mon, Sept 5th. I was urinating more than usual yesterday, but today everything is back to normal. No cramps but I had a little irritation that seemed like the beginning of a yeast infection. Water and grapefruit juice seems to have cleared it up. Good luck and I hope you're feeling better.

Thanks for you help. I finally got a hold of my doctor's office yesterday. The nurse told me that due to the Fertility drugs I had been taking, my ovaries had been hyperstimulated of course. Mine ended being OVER ACHIEVERS!!! She said that the discomfort I am feeling is because my ovaries went from bieng the size of a grape to the size of a golf ball. I am feeling a little better, but still rather uncomfortable. Again, thanks!!!

lillbitt, I know several people that have overstimmed. Your dr probably told you this, but you should take it easy, don't lift heavy things, and drink LOTS of fluids. The fluids really help the swelling go down. Good luck on your bfp!
