im 37 weeks pregnant and the babys head has been down for almost a month and im 1cm so far, my belly latley has been hard as a basketball and i havent been sleeping well does anyone know why my belly is so hard? the docters say its normal but i dont think it is.

My belly was as hard as a rock at 37 weeks too....as a matter of fact, that's when my daughter was born (3 weeks early)! When I was in labor, I was concerned that something might be wrong because I didn't feel the contractions the machines were telling the midwife I was having. She tried to explain to me that when I was having a contraction my belly would get really hard. I told her this didn't work for me because my stomach had been rock solid for a while. When she felt my stomach she was amazed. She said she thought the reason it was so hard was because I was all baby. My little one had run out of room and had kicked a hole in the top of the sack. So, don't worry and don't be surprised if you become a mom a little sooner than expected!! Lots of baby dust...Good luck
