Hi girls. I have 2 girls already - 9 and 6. First baby 1997, still born at term. Miscarried at 5 months, last year - due to baby contracting a virus. Relationship a bit rocky at present. Any advice? I am considering termination considering my history and the chance of Downs etc. Any thoughts?

Hi there and a big congrats on this blessing! Try not to worry based on the last outcomes of pregnancies. I am so sorry for the losses...hugs. Each pregnancy is different with different circ_mstances. I know you mentioned your relationship is rocky a little but that may change for the better as well. Abortion is so final, so done. At your age this very well may be the last chance of this miracle for you. I will be 39 next month and just had my fourth and all was well. Even if you decide not to want to keep this child, consider adoption for the baby. Things have a way of working themselves out for the best. I am really excited for you and wish you all the best. Keep us posted on your decision. many blessings, xo

Hi there and congratulations. I am 40 and my first baby is due next week. I too worried a little about downs, and had the nuchal screening done at 12 weeks .. which not only tested for downs but also can detect other abnormalities.. the result gave me peace of mind. Your loss last year and relationship problems must be making things so difficult for you right now, but if you decide to keep your child things will work themselves out....

Howdy Lisa, Thank God none of my babies had d/s, etc.... Had a miscarriage about 5 years ago, but had first baby at 37, second at 39 & 3rd at 40. How's that for a track record? Going for the 4th this year. Sure, there's always a chance of genetic disorders/chromosonal abnormalities, etc...., just as there's always a chance of absolutely zero; it's just a matter of whether you want to give it a try. Just my opinion. You figure out what's best for you.
