Hi Ladies, I mostly read your posts and sometimes offer an occasional reply. Though this time I am in need of your advice and most of all...hope. I am 44 and wondering what I can do to help my chances considering the age factor especially since DH is 55. We just recently married and feel that a baby would be a blessing for us. We have 5 children in all from our previous marriages. Before we were married I didn't use any b/c but we didn't really try at that time. For the last three months I've been using the OPKs. My cycles are 24 days very regularly and OPKs indicate a surge at cd10 along with O pains. Even used preseed one time. We don't have any weight or health issues that I am aware of. Although I noticed that my period does seem a bit lighter recently. DH is so positive about it all. He says "it's just a matter of time before your egg and my sperm collide!" I would really appreciate any advice and/or hope you can give me. Thank you!

hi, i'd see a dr and get some lab work on thyroid, FSH and sperm.. then accept advice from fertility endo. i'm on my second clomid cycle - we got so tired of timed s_x we switched to sperm sample in an instead cup with preseed this cycle. we're waiting to see if this worked better (CD 18, 4dpo) every month counts are our age. good luck!

Hi iampg, I do have a dr's appt next week with my endo although not a fertility one but at least I know what to ask now. So thank you for your advice! This is all so new for me since I didn't have a problem getting pg before but I also didn't need reading gla__ses back then! LOL. What's so hard about this is I know at least 4 women in their 40's and all got pg naturally. One even has fibroids but the most maddening thing is they weren't even ttc! May I ask your age and how long you've been trying? Good luck and wishing you a BFP!

I def. agree to see your doc and get some tests.
My experience has been that our "old eggs" can be a factor.
Ive been ttc since my DS4 was was 2. I have very little prob getting pg. but I have had 2 m/c (spontaneous abortion...prob bad eggs). So, you wanna give those little eggs and sperm every chance to meet up!! My DF also did sperm sample after awhile.
BTW I am 42 and 8wks pg. Crossing my fingers again.

Well since my hubby is 11yrs older than me I think his "swimmers" are older than my "old eggs!" They might need a road map with gla__ses to find their destination at "their age". LOL! So yes I'm def seeing the dr! Suze thanks for sharing your experience and your kind words. I'm sending good thoughts your way! BTW, I'm glad you liked the "bun in the oven" suggestion!

You're welcome suze! I'm so glad your DH liked the idea! It's just the way I would like to tell my hubby... I'm hoping to get the chance soon. Maybe I SHOULD stand on my head! :)
