Hi Ladies, I'm 26 wks and just had an ultrasound done and they said I have a lot of amnionic fluid. They want me to come back Mon to see the dr. The baby seemed fine & weighs about 2 lbs. Has anyone experienced this before? Thanks!!

Generally, it is considered a good news - there is enough medium for the fetus to swim and grow in. I, too, got similar comments with my two pregnancies throughout. With my first, I was overdue, having an ultrasound on my 42nd week, and they still said: "My, there's lot of amniotic fluid" - because they were looking for signs of fetal distress, and low level of fluid would be a sign of distress. So lots of it is good!

Thanks in the woods for responding! I've been doing some research & it said a cause of it can be pregnancy related diabetes. Guess I'll see what happens on Mon!
