I am SOOO excited...my 43 y.o. wife is pregnant with our very first child! So far, everything has been going beautifully thank God. We had a little bump when she got stomach flu last weekend, but the baby seems just fine. We are due Feb. 25, 2007. We are so ready to be a mommy and daddy. I will be there for my wife every step of the way because, it's her that has to do all the work. I just want to support her 150% with everything she needs! Any advice is greatly appreciated!!! :)

You are most certainly welcome on this thread DearJeff!! There is a thread for new dads on this website but not for expecting dad with wife over 35--so this is a good place for you to be and maybe other Dads with partners over 35 will take your lead and jump onboard this discussion! Congratulations to you and your wife! I think it's wonderful that you want to be involved in your wife's pregnancy. My discussions with others on this website have been such a great source of information and rea__surance for me (37 year old, 35 weeks into pregnancy) and I share a lot of info and stories I read here with my husband. He's been reading baby and pregnancy information online, from books and magazines but there's a bit more I get from these discussions--moral support and firsthand experiences. It would be very helpful for you to read our experiences to better understand your wife. Seems like you're already well on your way to being a supportive husband. The "week by week" information (here or on babycenter or pregnancy weekly websites) will help you understand what's happening with your wife's body, hormones and changes in baby's development. I'd make sure to read that if I were you and I'm sure there are week by week tips for dads as well.

Dear dearjeff. I just wanted to say that I think it's FANTASTIC that you're here and I'd be happy to discuss things with you whenever you need. At the moment it sounds like you don't need any advice though as you're obviously being really supportive. Wonderful. Congratulations on your pregnancy! HOORAY!!
