I am 37 years old, 23 weeks pregnant. I just found out that my baby may have 2 very small choroid plexus cysts - my AFP screen was very low (1:15,900) and the OB scan did not notice any other markers or abnormalities for Down Syndrome or Trisomy 18. However, I'm still very worried - I am having another ultrasound at 26-28 weeks. Has anyone else dealt with this? I would appreciate all input. Thank you.

I had the same thing with this (my fifth) pregnancy. I was terribly worried for the threee weeks in between ultrasounds but through researching things on the web, calmed down because these cysts seem to sometimes be part of brain development. I think the detection machines used today are so advanced that they pick up every little thing which may or may not be anything. Please try to a__sume that it is nothing and get the next ultrasound. Don't let it ruin your pregnancy.

I also just found out that I have CPC. Right away my doctor got me an appointment with a level 2 u/s. I'm still waiting on my AFP test results and getting more nervous by the day. He discussed the chances of downs with me right away which now after reaserching made me much more nervous. Beaucse the chances seem low with my age (24) and there were no other factors on my first u/s. I'm getting my next u/s on monday. so we are keeping are fingers crossed. Best of luck to you
