Confused With Dates And Weeks

I am 38 years old, My first day of last p was on the 10 Oct 09, Today is the 17th Dec and us are telling me that sac is 1cm (5.5 wk) and to early to see anything, They said that everything was fine but to come back in 3 weeks. I have been feeling sick sore br___ts but not so sore now and tried. Should I be worried, or not.
