hi scared2 - i had a similar situation to you in march - i was 10w+ per dates (that i was positive on) and my hcg's were a little tiny bit less than doubling - but just a tiny bit. we saw a hb on 7w2d u/s and not on the 10w. the doc advised us to wait till the tues of the next week (it was fri afternoon) and said some times these things correct themselves - well i couldn't wait - we found a sonographer on a saturday afternoon (at one of those 3d ultrasound places) and they found no hb and no cardiac movement, and advised us to go to the ER. long story short, i ended up losing my baby. i had a missed miscarriage (no cramps, no bleeding etc) and had 2 more u/s to confirm the fetal demise. i was devastated. i ended up having a D&C the following friday. which i was so afraid of (it was physically fine - but emptionally i was not prepared for the loss - and am still having a tough time but it is getting easier.) my u/s's showed that the baby was about a week behind in size from my dates. i hope yours turns out better than mine - i will say a prayer for you. i had so many questions and so little places to get answers on a weekend - i hated that it happened at all - but the fact that i got all this thrown at me over a fri & thru a weekend was terrible cuz i had so many things i wanted to have answered (it was my only m/c - i have a 20 month old dd) and no where to get the answers. again i hope your situation turns out differently. pls post if you have any questions or to tell us how it goes. (PS: did they do hcg's yesterday? or progesterone levels? i wish they had done that with me on that friday - as if they start dropping you know it is not good news but if they keep going up - you may be ok)

Julie2007 Thank you Like you this all happened from wednesday on. Yes they did the levels on thursday got results on friday still showing 9 to 10 weeks preg. Even though HCG levels are correct, I can't explain why ultrsound is off if my dates are correct. Before I received the HCG results on friday I thought I had mc. Doc said lets wait until monday to see again and go from there. He didn't want to discuss anything else, he didn't want me worrying all weekend long. I keep telling myself "I'm still pregnant" focus on that and lets see what happens on monday. pS I also have no cramps, no bleeding nothing. I keep hoping that the ultrssound is incorrect, All I can do is pray and think good thoughts. Thank you again I will post once I find out whats happening.

Scared I hope everything goes well at your next ultrasound and you see your baby's heartbeat healthy and strong. I will say a prayer for you.

Scared2, when is your next u/s? Hope things are going well for you. I think I have that situation, I'm 9 week today, u/s saw a little flutter and then next day, went to a radiologist for a better machine, no fetal heart activity seen, the dr. wants to come back again for another u/s. My hcg level was over 97,000 on Thursday. I don't know what is going on here. I'm afraid that I might have another miscarriage. So, what's your results today? Write back when you can.

well, Monday I went to the doctors and he couldn't find the heartbeat either so he didn't want me to wait any longer and sent me to the hospital to get an ultrasound there. They wouldn't tell me anything, but since the tech didn't say anything like "I see the heartbeat" I figured its not there. even if there was a heartbeat the sac is 3 weeks underdeveloped so that would be another concern. All signs are showing a miscarriage. Yesterday I had a DNC It took 5 u/s during the past week for my doctor finally admitted I needed a DNC. I have a wonderful DR. He wanted to make sure before making the decision. Thank you for all your prayers. Bromom your levels are at 97,000 WOW my levels last wed were at 17,518 and that was at 9 weeks. I hope everything goes well. I will say several prayers for you and your family. I know its not easy, I am 41 and trying to have my first one. I didn't have any cramps or bleeding so I was still hoping everything was fine. Good luck and I will pray.

hi scared2 - i am so sorry for your loss. i am going to be 40 so i understand the time thing - and our situations were so similar. i am very sorry. did they tell you when you could TTC again --- wait - i should say do you think you may try again some day? right after my d&c i was so scared i didn't know if i would try again - but i got AF back and we tried this month. i will be testing in a week or so. tryo to rest - and a heating pad on the belly really helps with any cramping.

Oh, I'm so sorry for your loss, was that your first m/c? I went through that just a few months ago, just like yours the first time and now I'm pregnant again, not sure about this yet and I will have another u/s in 2 more weeks and see how that goes. The second level from previous m/c was over 11,000 at almost 9 weeks. Now, this time is a big one, I wonder what the levels are for and explain that to me, if you or anyone know. Are you going to try to get pregnant again? Hope the next time is better for you. Hang in there. Oh, by the way, I'm 40 too. (((((HUGS)))))

Thank you, I miscarried in January, but doc said it was because they gave me the MMR vacine and I wasn't suppose to get pregannt, I used a condom and only had s_x once and I got preg. It didn't hit as hard because it was 4 or 5 weeks along and I was bleeding and cramping and supposely the vacine would have done some damage etc. But this time 10 weeks The baby just didn't develop properly no heartbeat. I was waiting for the 12 week mark to tell family. No bleeding no cramping just not heartbeat everything else was there the yolk sac etc. Well the dr told me no s_x until 3 weeks and I also have to wait until I get my period again and then go from there. Thank you for your comments and concerns, It helps talking to someone, I don't feel alone. My husband is great but he worries about me and I try to be strong but its hard.

Dear Bromom2 The levels tells you if 1. you are still pregant and 2. that everything is going as planned. If your levels start to drop it might mean a m/c depending how much they drop. however, my levels were normal but the u/s showed underdevelop. so I guess its not completely failproof. Glad you are pregt and I pray everything goes well with you.
