Good question, I am curious to know that information also as I am 42 and may have to go this route. Also, any info on donor embryos would be beneficial as well.

Hi mmelo21. I was wondering if anyone would respond. I am currently 31 weeks pregnant via donor egg at age 43. We tried two IVF attempts which resulted in very poor results due to my low egg reserve. My fertility specialist flat out told me that if I wanted to have a baby - donor egg was the way to go. I was in the right place at the right time because that same office had another couple (pursuing donor egg) that wanted to share a donor. We split the cost and both ended up pregnant. In my geographic area there is not much available by way of donor embryos....but I think as more and more couples do this that donor embryos will be available. I actually have 5 embryos frozen right now that I'm not sure if I'll end up using or not. I posted this question hoping that I could provide info AND find someone to relate to. I know donor egg is commonly used but sometimes I feel like I'm the only one in the world because I've never had the opportunity to talk to anyone in the same boat. I've suggested to my doctors office that they create a chat room for such. Have you been diagnosed with a low egg reserve?
