Miracle Baby... Maybe you will have your baby a little earlier if you and the baby are bigger than expected... I pretty much know the exact date the I conceived, so I have a good idea when she should be born. (yours is a girl, too, right?) I have my last of the 4 weeks apart visit next Friday and then I start the every two week appointments. My last appoint went well, but I did NOT gain any weight and they are waiting to see if I did at the next visit. It is hard to gain now for me. I gained a ton right away due to eating the comfort foods such as Mac and Cheese to keep from getting morning sickness. Now, with it being spring and warm outside, I am walking a lot and wearing off the calories I eat.
I am excited about the approaching date, but now I am starting to worry about things such as -- do I want a spinal or an epidural -- (I really didnt know that there was a difference until I checked it out on the internet...)
Have a great day -- and keep in touch.

Hi all! I am now up to the weekly doc visits!! I think my hormones are starting to revert back to the way they were in the 1st trimester...I start crying over the stupidest things. I've also been having very weird dreams (I dreamed that I gave birth to a cat and a donut! lol) Miraclebaby...the nurse at my doc's office had a spinal instead of an epidural when she had her baby, but said that they don't normal do the spinal unless it is for a c-section. The spinal is a single dose shot given in the spine that numbs the lower abdomen, legs and birth ca___l. If it is used during a normal v____al birth, it is only given in the 2nd stage of labor when delivery is imminent (because it can stall labor and may need to be re-injected). The epidural anesthetic is injected through a small flexible catherter inserted and taped to the lower back that provides pain relief to the lower abdomen, legs and birth ca___l. My hubby and I had our childbirth cla__s a couple of weeks ago and I made sure to know about all the pain relief methods;)

Hope everyone is doing well! My little bundle of joy decided she wanted to make an appearance a little earlier than expected (2 1/2 weeks earlier). Madeline Grace was born at 8:51pm on 25May06! She weighed in at 6lbs, 6ozs and is 19 inches long. We brought her home today and, besides her being a little jaundiced, all is going pretty good. She is a little angel!! My labor/deliver wasn't what I was expecting...my water broke at 1:40am on the 25th (I was getting up to take one of the numerous bathroom breaks that occur throughout the night). When we got to the hospital, it was confirmed. My contractions weren't regular yet and I wasn't able to even feel the ones they told me I was having. I ended up being put on pitocin to make contractions more regular and effective, but still didn't feel them until I got to about 5cm dialation. When I started feeling them, my hubby was awsome and helped me get through each one. I ended up getting a pain reliever called nubane...all it did was make me sleepy between contractions. However, it did enough so that I was able to deliver without an epidural or an episiotomy. It was an unbelievable experience! Now all I have to do is get use to being a new mommy. I wish you all the best and will still be checking out the sight to find out how things go for the rest of you.
