Hi- I just turned 35,and have a beautiful 2 year old daughter. I have been trying for number 2 for the past 1.5 years and have had 3 consecutive miscarriages. Just found out today- that my FSH level was tested and was 17. This seems pretty high- and all the research says that it is tough to get preganant or carry to term?? Is this true?? Does anyone have similar situation?? Please help???

hi- i wish i had some great success story to share - but i am also in my late 30's and have a healthy 2y/o DD whom i conceived with NO issue in the 1st month i tried. i got PG in dec and lost the baby at 3 mos in march. had a D&C and waited the obligitory 2 mos - tried for a month and didn't have success and asked for any testing that might help me -- and they did the FSH and clomis challenge thing - apparently i failed the Clomid challenge. and my FSH was 7.7 before the test on CD 3 - and on CD10 it was 12.1 -- they told me i'd likely never conceive on my own and if i did - it had a very high risk of M/c -- i am now 7 w 1d preg - and measuring 6w4d (smaller than i should be) - and my progesterone has been insane - up high - down 15 pts - up high on supplements - then dropping 6 pts again - so my RE said since i have a healthy HB and a viable pregnancy measureing 6w4d i should just enjoy that we have "life'' for now - and know that it is in god's hands and that with my higher FSH it could go either way. ---- they originally wanted me to have IVF with donor eggs, and i agreed to try 1 IUI and then 1 IVF with my eggs - and then see - and when we went in to sign consent forms for the IUI we found we were already pg. i am very thankful - and so very cautiously scared to death that i may lose this one too. -- i know my story isn't inspirational - but i was able to get pregnant on my own - maybe you can too. have you consulted with a fertility specialist? i wish you a healthy pregnancy -- and SOON! very good luck to you!

i used acupuncture and supplements to help lower the FSH even though my RE told me they probably won't do much - and i believe they helped!! have you thought about trying anything like that? my acupuncturist said in 3 - 6 mos they can lower FSH enough to conceive - i had been going about 6 wks. it's worth a try - and i forgot to mention it on my last post.
