I got my HCG test done today. I am 5 weeks seven days pregnant. My HCG was 4000 3/12 days ago and now it is 11,800. Not doubled exactly. Is it true that as your HCG increases your doubling time increases. I am worried. It was doubling quite well before.

I have read that when it is higher such as yours it takes longer to double 72-96 hours. I hope so. My HCG was 5566, progesterone 28.13, at 4.5 weeks, then HCG was 8062 72 hours later, do not know progesterone...Yes i too am very worried. Do not give up hope. I will pray for you and please pray for me. I will not know anything until Monday after 10 when my doctor reviews my chart. I am praying for an ultrasound to settle my heart.

I just went on http://www.conceivingconcepts.com/learning/articles/hcg.html
and found out that if your HCG level is between 1200-6000 then your expected double time is 72-96 hours and if HCG level is above 6000 it takes longer then 96 hours to double.
So, I think both of you are fine.

Thanks to Don't worry. I went to the site and yes it did relieve some of my fears, however like all us who are trying to remain worryfree-it is a challenge. Thanks

Not to worry your numbers are appropriate and look fine, every body is different. In actualilty later in your pregnancy your HCG numbers will actually decrease as it will no longer be needed to sustain your pregancy and the growing uterus and fetus will make its own hormones to sustain your precious cargo.
