hi all - just looking to see if anyone else has been diagnosed with a high day 10 fsh level after a clomid challenge test - and was still able to conceive ? ? if so -- how?? i am getting restless and my OB and RE are both telling me IVF is the only answer - and DH isn't sold on that since we had a DD in late 2005 and got PG in dec (m/c in march 07) all on our own very easily - he is concerned that now that we are trying again and we have not had luck for 2 months - that the doc's just want to rush us into IVF> i took clomid this month - (100 mg) and wil find out for sure this weekend - but i don't feel PG. u/s showed i did ovulate (which has never been a problem) i am not yet 40 so i don't know what to think? any replies would be nice. thanks --

Julie, I have the same issue, and I just turned 38. How high is your fsh? Mine was 12.9 on cd3 and 15.9 on cd10 on the clomid challenge test. I did did 6 clomid cycles, 2 injectible cycles, and was about to do ivf when I turned up pg naturally. I just had my first child in Feb 2007.

OOOOHH ann - you are my encouragement i so badly needed! congratulations on your baby!! i just turned 39 and fsh was only 7.8 on cd3 - but 12.1 on cd10 -- they said IVF was the ONLY way i'd conceive. and that i'd better not waste another month waiting. do you mind if i ask - what injectibles were you on? and did you do IUI? i guess the most important thing is HOW did you get PG naturallY? please share anything you can -- i have been feeling pretty down in the dumps since the RE's visit. - thanks so much for sharing.

I did IUIs with all my clomid cycles except one and did IUI with both injectible cycles. I was on Follistim and Menopur for injectibles. I don't know how I got so lucky to get pg naturally. When I started injectibles, I also started accupuncture. On the first natural cycle w/accupuncture only, I got pg. I used an opk that month, and it just worked out. As if I hadn't tried that maaaany times before (although w/o accupuncture)! We had been ttc for over 2 years (got pg at 2yrs 3mos of ttc). I was going to do ivf and the dr found fibroids he wanted to remove first. I was shceduled for surgery on a Thursday, but I ended up getting a + pg test on the Sunday before. I know how you feel being down in the dumps. High fsh is a devastating diagnosis, and the worst part of it is that it can't be improved. Honestly, knowing what I know now and having been through a lot of infertility treatments, I would go straight to ivf. I am sorry if that isn't what you want to hear. I just think about how I wouldn't want to not get pg and look back and wonder if would have done ivf sooner would it have worked.

thank you again - ann. DH and i have some dinner conversation to have tonight - - i have to find a good acupuncturist in san fran bay area - and really consider moving straight to the IVF. although the nagging thing would remain in my head - did i need to spend $15k to get PG when i could have done it with IUI and acupuncture at a much lower cost? there will always be questions i guess -- thank you again for your insight - ireally do appreciate your sharing with me.

Good morning. Hi Ann and Julie. Thanks Ann for all you help in the past..we did get our BFP this month! Also, Julie, I am 38 as well and my FSH was 7.7 at first, and we never did do the cd10 test, so I'm not sure. Is it because of the cd10 test that they recommenend IVF? Don't be discouraged..look at Ann's story of naturally concieviing after all! Wishing all the best.
