Help No Fetal Heartbeat Yet

Got pregnant by mistake...was scared at first but now have gotten used to the lovely idea of being a mom (at 43!) and now my latest u/s did not pick up any fetal heartbeat. My periods have always been irregular so my dates could be off. I still feel pregnant....swollen feet and very tender br___ts...I am having (what could be) a final u/s on May 10. 7 very long days from now...anyone with experience of not having had a fetal heartbeat detected by 7 or 8 weeks but still went on to have a healthy child, please let me know.

So often are dates are off. Don't worry too much yet, wait and see what the next scan says. there are people who don't see a HB at 7 weeks. Hold on till the 10th. Good luck.

Ladies - I share your concern! I am spotting -- had an u/s and they found a sac but it was too early (5 weeks) so now I have to wait another week. I just want to know one way or another what is going on. mmvjul - I don't think they can generally detect a h/b until you are over 6 weeks and even then, sometimes it takes a few more weeks. Thoughts and prayers for everyone!

Hello everyone. I'm so glad to find this website. I'm 43 and pregnant for the first time. I did the IVF cycle. Today I went for my second u/s and they saw the sac and the embryo but did not see the fetal pole or hear a heart beat. Thanks for the encouragement. It's hard to know who to talk to. Thanks for listening.
