I am 36 and pregnant with my second. I am now 11 weeks along. Here are two questions:
1. when did you hear your baby's heartbeat on the home doppler? I still haven't heard a thing.
2. Have any of you experienced anemia after just becoming pregnant? I was not anemic 5 weeks ago, and BAM now i am.
Thanks! anne

Was too freaked out I wouldn't hear a heart beat with the home monitor, so I refused to use one...I do believe I had friends tell me it was more like 15-16wks before they could pick it up good...I don't know when I became anemic, but showed anemic when they did the routine test - 28 wks or so??

hey Anne, I recognize you from 2nd tri...I first heard the hb at the docs office at 9.5 weeks. I watched where he placed the doppler head then went home and used mine, which I rent from belly beats and finally heard it on my own 1 week later. You have to be patient when using one, make sure you use it properly and understand how they work. Also, try it with a full bladder. We are 14 weeks now. See ya over in the 2nd again.

hi i cant tell you for definate but i bought a doppler and it took me ages to find the heart beat as i was looking too high up when you search for it go as low down towards your pubic bone and move the probe slowly around at different angles it will sound like galloping horses sometimes you will pick up your heart beat so listen carefully also use plenty of gel, some dopplers are better than others too its such a great sound good luck
