Hope For Low Progesterone

I was diagnosed at 9weeks with a progesterone of 14.
and have been put on supplements. I have been a nervous wreck for 3-4 weeks. I just had my appt. and they heard the baby's heartbeat via doppler . Doc. said go off pills they are not need anymore. I am 13 weeks and 3days and baby's heartbeat was 150 perfect. So ladies I am hope for you that need to hear this . And also I did alot of prayer and put my trust in God. Good luck to all of you

Did you Doctor explain to you the differences in progesterone production between the 1st and 2nd trimesters? In the first tri, the corpus luteum (CL) is responsible for producing progesterone. At 12 weeks progesterone production shifts from the CL to the placenta. Since your progesterone production has shifted to the placenta, the low-producing CL no longer needs to be supplemented. Hope this makes sense.

Yes, it makes sense , what exactly is CL I am not sure what was not making enough in the first place. Thanks !!

L, I feel so stupid I must have skipped right over Corpus Luteum when I was reading , I am tired and been a long day.!!!

Are you feeling comfortable now with your dr's decision to stop the supplementation?

L, yes I am feeling comfortable with the decision, because I read its not really good to take that during the second trimester, did you hear that, I feel so much relief that I am in the 2nd trimester now. How far along are u?

MiracleBaby I sit here in tears of joy!! I have been looking for hope and you've given that to me! I am 4wks pregnant and just started taking progesterone suppositories - I'm terrifed and elated after having 2 m/cs in one year! I'm 40 and have pcos. Thank you sincerely! I wish us all the best!

Clare, I am now waiting on Thurs. is my first appt. after I stopped taking them, But it seems that everything will be fine I have no signs of m/c. And tomorrow I start 16 weeks. Also , if you look in this forum there is a section on plenty of women who took this. see if you can find it I cant remember where it was sorry, My sister in law had to take it also and her baby is fine. take care :)

Hi ya'll went today for checkup and doc said everything is fine, first check up while have been off progesterone supp. 16 weeks yesterday and heart beat heard at 149-150 via doppler YEAH

Hi everyone! Hope you're all well! Just an update, had my first ultrasound Monday and I'm now 6w6d and baby's heart beat was a solid 135bpm! Can't wait to hear it! I'm still saying my prayers!

clare, I am so happy for you I think that its great news Stay positive I know its hard, but you have to. Also, I believe that you started taking these pills early, in fact I did not start taking mine until 9 weeks when I found out I was pregnant. take care and keep in touch

Miraclebaby thank-you! Hubby and I are daring to dream again. I started the progesterone at 4wks which was 1 day after I found out I was pregnant - I'd only had one period since m/c oct 29. I can't wait for my next us! The techs were nice enough to have given me a picture of baby at 6w4d (they don't normally but after my reaction and knowing my situation they allowed it). We look at it every day! Please keep us posted as well! When are you due? Hope to hear from you soon! God Bless!
