How long should I wait or do I have to wait to get a accurate answer from a Home Pregnancy Test? I had my IUI on Saturday, the 2nd.

I will just jump in on this post of yours as well! It takes 10 days, on average, for the hcg trigger to get out of your system (which will give you a false bfp). An hpt, especially the early testing type (e.g. Early Response) will give you an accurate answer by 12dpo, and sometimes you can get a bfp as early as 10dpo. You count the day after your iui as 1dpo. I used to use the Dollar Tree hpts, but on the cycle where I was pg, I took one at 10dpo and got a very clear negative. I tested again the next day w/a brand name test and got a dark positive, so I don't think they are as accurate as they say they are. The one I used said it detects 20miu of hcg in your urine, but I had a beta test (blood test at the dr) 2 days after the negative test and my hcg was over 100 (so when I used the Dollar Tree test it has to have at least been over 50). Hope this helps!

I'm with Ann on the Dollar Tree brand - don't think they work as well either. Got a negative, the next day had hcg tested and it was 140, so Dollar Tree Brand should have detected.
