My husband and I are wanting to begin ttc, but first my IUD (MIRENA) must come out. I went into the doctor for that minor detail last week and after much effort and two days worth of doctor visits trying to remove it, the doctor just couldn't find the strings. I am scheduled for a hysteroscopy on Friday to remove it. I am a little nervous about this. Has anyone else ever had this procedure done? The doctor made it sound like a piece of cake. I am 42 and time is of the essence if you know what I mean. Does anyone know how quickly my cycle will return. I haven't had a normal cycle since it was put in 3 years ago.

Don't know about the IUD but I had to be off the pill for about 3 months before I had a normal (ovulating) cycle. I am 37 and currently 19 weeks pregnant. Yeah.. Good luck to you. Use the ovulating kit for a while to see if you are ovulating or not. It worked for me.
