Can anyone tell me is IVF safe and does it really work. Today I found out that I have a little scaring and small overies. My husband spern does'nt swim to well eithor. Does anyone know my chances of getting pregnant.

Debbie, the success rates vary by age and what your infertility issues are. With male issues, ivf is highly successful. It will also depend on how you respond to the meds and if they get enough good eggs. It has been around for a long time. There are risks a__sociated with ivf, but I would call it "safe." Good luck!

My age is 36 and I dont know much about hcg but it was lower after taking clomid. Does this make a difference.

Are you sure you mean lower hcg?? Hcg is the hormone that is in your blood when you are preg. It is also the "trigger" shot they give you to ovulate.

It wasent my hcg levels it was my FSH levels.

So, did you have the clomid challenge test where you check fsh at cd3, take clomid, and then check fsh at cd10. Or do you mean you checked fsh at cd3, took clomid, and then checked fsh at cd3 on the next cycle? Also, what was your fsh count each time?

Well, I got pregnant in my second IVF. Doctors say it is safe because the hormones are degraded right away. thats why one keeps getting injections everyday. Their half-lives are short. This is a relief. However, at the same time it gets the ovaries extremely stimulated. I read once that in theory that should increase the susceptibility to ovarian cancer but this has not been the case. One has to ask the doctors this question I think. AS it is a new technology, there is not enough statistical data yet. Good luck!

Ivf does work! Iam now 16 weeks pregnant with twins! Haven't had any problems so far.
