I am 38 years old my wife is 34 years old.We married five years back.My wife concieved 2 years after marriage but she had 13 weeks abortion.Second pregnancy is a DOWN SYNDROM baby(Two years old). Now we are planning for next BABY.We want to know whether we should go our (mine and my wife's)KARYOTYPING or we should go for pregnancy and go for aminocentesis of foetus and other investigations of foetus to rule out genetic abnormality

The best thing to do is have the CVS test at around 13 weeks, it is earlier than waiting on the amnio. You will not be carriers of DS unless it runs in the family. DS is caused by an extra 21 chromosone which I am sure you are aware of. I have lost four babies three to downs and I have had genetic counseling done. Unless it runs in the family (i.e. sister, brother, cousin, nephew etc.) you are not carriers. Hope this helps
