Hi, my sister is 42 years old and had a late pregnancy miscarriage last year. Now we found out she is pregnant again. On Sunday she had strong abdominal pains and bleeding. She went to Doc and US to ensure that is not a ectopic pregnancy. They ruled that out, but saw nothing in the Uturus during ultrasound. Now her hormones are still doubling! Could it be that she is still pregnant? She is having another blood test to see what her hormones are doing and I am probably crazy to think that there is still hope, but after all the hardship I just want it for her so much. Anybody been through this? Any answers are apreciated, thanks!

danikell, I'm by no means an expert, but 5 weeks seems very early for anything to be seen in an ultrasound, other than the gestational sac. The fetus is definitely too small to be seen this early. In my humble opinion, she could most definitely still be pregnant. I wish you and your sister the best of luck!
