Hello All,
I'm new here and I am desprate for advice.
Let me introduce myself. My name is Laura, I am 45 years young and have been happily married for almost 17 years. My husband is 9 years older than me. I had one son, Anthony, when I was 32, he is now 13. My other son, Joseph, is 9.
Yesterday, I went to my OB-GYN to renew the prescription for my birth control. My doctor wanted to check me over just to make sure I needed the medication, with the possibility of being menopausal. That is when I recieved some very shocking news. I am two months pregnant.
Thankfully, the last time I took my BC was when the baby was concieved. I'm not very diligent, as you can see. The question is, how did I get pregnant if I am 45 and on the pill?
My due date is August 25, 2011.
I am scared out of my wits concerning the risks of birth defects. Any experience?
Next up, while it seems extremely early, is names.
This is what I have come up with so far, I am subject to change, and keep in mind, I will absolutely not be finding out the gender of the baby until the day it arrives.

Alexis Scarlett
Wyatt Paul
Samuel Lucas
Thanks,
orangelady

Congratulations!!! I don't have any advice regarding BC & pregancy, so I hope someone else can help. You did say that you aren't as diligent taking BC. Anyway, what a blessing. Congrats again & good luck!
