hi everyone, thank God its over the shower that is. It was nice, I recieved a lot of gifts that i needed stroller, playpen, swing, clothes, it was all so worth it. I cant believe how tiring it was. I was literally falling asleep by 5 pm. We had more than 15 kids running around and most of the women telling me horror stories of there labour. I really hate that when people say to you, your going to die of labour pain, it hurts so much. I dont want to hear that just dont say anything. All in all it was special and nice. Kristen how was your shower? I know you had 80 people. Wow I only had 25

Anna...amazing how we all die from labor pain yet we go and do it over and over again! ...Seriously though...I was surprised by the one or 2 contractions I felt...then I had the epidural...No problems...LOL

Hi Christa and Anna~ Thanks for asking about my shower. Truly I am still emotional over the entire day. It was completely overwhelming. I took a different angle than I thought I would and alot of things hit home yesterday for me. The love and support was truly evident in the air. Women ran around like ants on an ant hill getting things orgainzed. The whole day was great..tiring but great. I have sooo many gifts it's not funny. It will take me a week just to go through all 80. Many people bought several things so it is just crazy the amount of items I now have. I am truly appreciative for the start on life my baby will have. I never in my wildest dreams thought a baby would bring so many people together to support me and me little baby on the way. My dh showed up with flowers for me and the two grandma's at the end...I started to cry..I'm so whimpy. The food was abundant..mind you I didn't get a chance to each much other than a salad and a piece of cake. Overall I still feel so blessed by the supporters and friends/family who came together for this day. I feel indebted to to my future SIL who was a huge help. We did not finish opeing all the gifts until 6:30 or so..but by that time many had left. We gave away 10 gift bags and had a draw every 5 minutes for a little broaches, or rhinestone hair clip thingy. I am going to start on my thankyou's right now..but first I have to organize who gave what. I had my friend help with that by writing on cards and things but I am going to write all that down on a paper so it's organized.. On top of all that I received many monetary gifts..as well as gift certificates..I now have lots of clothing including a bunting bag and several sleepers and blankies playpen, highchair, car seat,hand made shawls and toys. What a day..like Anna I am glad it's over...but I keep reflecting on the whole day. And... despite my stress and over contribution it was all worth it in the end. I can't believe people were telling you your going to die from the labour.. Anyway, you won't die you may just cherish labour as part of the whole process..I am not worried about labour..I just feel it is part and parcel of the whole experience and will be over before we know it!! Kristin - so glad your shower went well. What a relief! Sorry that FIL was a GIT but at least you didn't expect any different. Congrats on surviving it all and thanks so much for your well wishes on the "positive thoughts" thread. I read your posts often and am following your progress so don't think I'm ignoring you - it's just that I post on so many threads that I'm surprised I'm not suffering from repet_tive strain injury!! LOL!!! Anyway, glad you're well and I hope christa that you're doing fine too and that things have eased for you a bit over the last few days. TTY all L!!
