Anyone been told their chances of conceiving after 40 are about 18%? I'd like to know if anyone had an easy time getting pregnant. I could use some encouragement!

How the heck do they come up with 18%, why not 19% or 17% or 62%? That is such c___p. Read my post "mommy of 2 at 43". My post should encourage you. Don't listen to "them". My OBGYN didn't think I was any medical marvel, he has patients over 40 all the time. Be positive, it will happen.

I'm trying to stay positive but am discouraged now that it looks like AF is here (*SIGH*). I thought maybe I "got it right" last month but evidently not. Then I thought I was having implantation bleeding because AF stopped after two days. But now she started again, so I guess it's back to trying again. If my BF is older than me would that be why I can't get it right? Please advise.

Has he looked into his sperm count etc.. ? Just keep trying, and remember that there is only approx a 36 hour window each month to get pregnant. The sperm has to be there before the egg is released, or at the same time. It isn't as easy as people think. Have you charted your temperature? I did that and it really helped me more than I can say. I learned that I ovulated around day 16 instead of the standard day 14. It helped to know when to do it, and if you are ovulating late, there is an easy fix for that with your doctor. If you haven't, look into it, it will help you understand exactly when you are fertile. Once we were charting, we nailed it quickly. Just google basal temperature charts, and look into how it is done, and you can download charts free. I used to wake at 5 a.m. take my temp and go back to sleep, that way I knew it was accurate.
