My Birth Story

Well, I was scheduled for a section on 11/27, BUT this is what happened: On Thursday, the 16th, I had a good day. I saw my Ob, who said I was only a fingertip dialated and she would see me again on the 22nd. I got my manicure and pedicure and felt good, because I really needed attention to my feet and toes. LOL. I went home, had supper, went to bed with hubby and felt VERY crampy and had him rub my back. All the sudden, I coughed and boom, my undies were all wet. I ran to the bathroom and saw pink in the toilet after I went pee and was scared. I called my mom and she said it was probably my water. So, I called the hospital to let them know I was scheduled in another week and a half for my section and they said to come in right away and be checked out. My hubby drove me and we got there and things went quick. Once they tested to see if it was my water that broke and saw that it was, things went very quickly. They called my doctor, prepped me, gave me the spinal and epi and off to the delivery room. I was sectioned within in hours time. My water broke around 10:00. I got to the hospital around 10:30 and she was born at 11:29 p.m. Her name is Aubrey Elizabeth and she was 6 lbs. 10 oz. 19" and has dark blue eyes and dirty blonde/brown hair and is absolutely gorgeous!! We are so in love with her and I couldn't be any happier. We are home and I'm sore and tired. Luckily, my hubby has the week off to take care of the both of us and my son. We are all thrilled to death and I am so happy to not be pregnant anymore!!!! Anybody getting a spinal, if you're offered an epi too, get it!!! My recovery was fantastic and was nothing like my section 7 years ago. They gave me some medicine through the cathater in my back and it helped SO MUCH in recovering that I was walking Saturday morning and showered. I came home Monday, so I was only there 3 nights not counting the night I was sectioned. Anyway, that's it and I am so freakin happy that she is healthy and beautiful!!!

What a great story! May I ask where did you deliver? I'm opting for a C-Section.

MellyMel - December 5

I delivered in Ma__sachusetts. :) Why are you opting for a section? Where do you live that you can do that? I've never heard of that before.
