My Ob/Gyn Physician will not write a note to my employer to take my maternity leave before 38 weeks of pregnancy. I am a per diem employee and I am a case manager RN for homecare and I want to take my leave at the end of my 7th month. What are my rights? I am not ent_tled to FMLA because I have not been employed for 12 months at this organization. My employer loves me but what the heck is going on with this Doctor of mine. I am 37 years old, first pregnancy and I travel all over from town to town, in and out of car, up and down stairs. I am ready to take my leave. I appreciate anyones input on this situation. Thank you

He may feel that you are physically capable of doing that up until your 38th week and does not feel comfortable writing a note he does not feel is necessary.
Does he fully know whay your job entails? Maybe he's not aware and you could explain.
Otherwise remember back in the olden days when women had 10 kids and took care of them all and worked all day in the house without a break even after the babies were born and the menfolk did notthing to help. It might be hard but women are tough and you can handle it. =)
