Hi I am 31 years old. Just did my 11 weeks ultrasound and my fetus appeared to have a think NT , 4.1mm vs. the average of 3.5mm which indicated increased risk of abnormalities. I am very concerned as this is my first pregnancy and doc has advised me to go for Triple test when i am 15 weeks pregnancy. I am scared and seek advice whether there is high possibility of my baby not being normal. Please help... anyone

Tikili, don't worry for now. Go to genetic doctor. It's just screening test. Your ultrasound technitian can be wrong also. Try to do ultrasound again. You have high possibility, but in reality your baby can be normal. In 13-15 weeks you can do amnio and you will know this for sure (100%)

forget that NT test. I went to a very reputabe maternal fetal doc in our area and he is no longer doing them because he just doesn't think they're very accurate. Plus, you must get certification from some British place in order to be doing the test. He just thought it wasn't worth it. As for the triple test, well I don't think they're worth it either. So many false positives. I think u/s and amnios/cvs are the best tests to go through if you really want to know if baby is ok.
