I have an off the subject question...and yall have been so supportive so I thought someone might be able to give me some insight on my grandmothers grave condition..she has alzheimers and we know she is in the last stage...yesterday her urine was black...like coffee..and she started sleeping all day yesterday and today..hospice is not telling us much..her vitals are ok but her heart rate is up some. she is very weak...we have so much family that is out of town so we are wondering how much longer she is going to be with us. This is very hard on everyone...can anyone tell me their opinion..how long can you live if her kidney or liver is indeed shutting down?

First...sorry you are having to deal with this.Secondly...once your liver and kidneys fail...without further intervewntion it will not be too long. My brother also died from liver and kidney failure. They did dialysis on him though and prolonged his death only a short while. I hope you are able to find peace and sorry about your grandmother.
