I'm 36, my DH is 34. I have 4 children from a previous marriage (16, 15, 13 and 10). I've had a Mirena IUD in for 2 years and it's due out in 3. We'd like to try for a child at that point, and I'll be 39 years old. I've had a mid term miscarriage, in the past, and two chemical pregnancies in the last year which of course resulted in miscarriage.
We're both non-smokers, don't drink or use drugs. We are out of shape though and although we eat healthy foods we eat too much. We don't exercise as much as we should, really I'd say we're lazy but we have 4 kids, our own business, and a lot of hobbies.
Other than taking the time and effort to actually get into shape, and start taking folic acid, what else would you recommend I do to prepare for TTC in 3 years? I know it seems like a long time away but really it isn't, not when talking about life changes. By the time this future baby comes we'll only have one other child at home, unless we end up getting pregnant the first month of trying. Also we may start TTC in two years, depending on our financial and health situation.
We are making plans for things we want to do before we have a baby, such as a trip to Greece and buying a house. Just wondering what I should do physically to prepare.
