I am 38 yo and ttc my 2nd child. We have been ttc since February without luck. This month I experienced mid-cycle bleeing during my week of ovulation - never had this happen before. Has anyone experienced this? Can you still conceive with even with mid cycle bleeding?

I've had mid cycle bleeding for 3 months now. I am waiting to get an ultrasound done. You need to talk to your doctor and he/she may order some tests for you. Mine did a biopsy to rule out the worse case scenario, she said that's what she does for women over 35 with irregular bleeding. I am sure yours is probably due to stress - as I suspect it's the case for me. We've been TTC for almost a year, and the stress is getting too much. Just found out SIL is expecting so while we are happy for them, we feel even more stressed. I think my doc will put me on Clomid to help with TTC and hopefully the mid cycle bleeding as well. Good luck.

Thanks for your response Travelbug. I agree that this is probably due to stress. I never thought that ttc could take such a toll on a person. I spoke with my OB's nurse and scheduled an appt with the Dr. for later this month. Aside from the mid cycle bleeding, I have not had a normal menstrual cycle since the middle of June. This concerns me because my cycle has been on point every 28 days since I was a teen. I took a pregnancy test but it came up negative. Dr.'s office mentioned the possibility of Clomid. Do you or anyone else out there know anything about this drug?

Hi I too had mid cycle bleeding and started to get very irregular cycles I just turned 42. My doctor put me on birthcontrol pills for 3 months he said to jump start my hormones, then he was going to draw blood and check my hormone levels. Well I did it for 3 months and my cycle did go back to normal the 2nd and 3rd month except that when I went in to get my blood checked in the 4th month I was pregnant! I guess being on the pill did jump start my hormones and help me concieve. We are due in December. Good luck!

Congrats on the baby! I'll keep your story in mind when I meet with my Dr.
Glad to know this worked for you...
