Hey ladies, this isnt about me but my sis. I went through my pregnancy and everything went well thank goodness and my little one is 14 months now. However my sis, who is 9 years older than me (34) is about 4 1/2 months right now and just got the quad 4 done coming up with a 75% chance the baby has downs syndrome and was just wondering if any ladies out there had the same sort of experience and what happened.

I haven't been there (yet) but your sister will likely be offered either CVS or amnio, which are diagnostic tools (triple and quads are screens only) which will tell whether the child has DS or not.

I had a triple done and it came back 1/199 that the baby would be born with DS. The doctor set up an appointment for a Level 2 Ultrasound which set my chances at 1/499. He said that the risk of miscarriage after having an amnio was higher than the risk of having a DS baby, so I opted out. I wasn't going to have an amnio anyways, because whatever happens happens. I'll love my child no matter what was wrong with her. I have an ultrasound once a month to make sure that the baby is fine. I have about 7-8 weeks left. =) I hope your sister finds out good news from now on. Just pump her full of positive thoughts and prayers.
